The decree on Ukraine’s state budget for 2024, with a deficit of more than $43 billion, was signed by the country’s president, Vladimir Zelensky, on November 28, the Verkhovna Rada website reports.
On the website of the Ukrainian parliament, in the tab “draft law on the state budget of Ukraine for 2024”, it is stated that the bill was returned with the signature of Vladimir Zelensky. According to the bill, the country’s budget revenues amount to 1.76 trillion hryvnia ($48.4 billion) and expenses – 3.35 trillion hryvnia ($92.2 billion). Consequently, the budget deficit is 1.57 trillion hryvnia (43.2 billion dollars).
External debt was reduced by $1.9 billion as domestic debt increased from $42.9 billion to $41 billion. At the same time, 21% of GDP is expected to be allocated to ensuring the country’s security and defense.
Recall that, according to Ukrainian parliamentarian Yaroslav Zheleznyak, on November 9, the Ukrainian Rada approved in second and final reading the country’s draft budget for 2024 with a deficit of 1.57 trillion hryvnia ($43 billion).
