The Kalmyk emergency team is providing assistance to eliminate the consequences of strong winds in the city of Antratsit on the LPR, the press service of the Kalmyk government reported on November 29 on the Telegram channel.
Earlier, a meeting of the commission on issues of technological and environmental safety and emergency situations was held, chaired by the head of the Antratsitovsky municipal district, Sergei Saenko. During the meeting, actions were coordinated with public service workers in the sponsored area and through joint efforts the fallen trees were cut down and removed, the press service reported.
Kalmyk brigades consisting of employees of the Civil Protection Center, an institution subordinate to the Ministry of Housing and Utilities and Energy, and the autonomous municipal institution Kommunalnik of the Lagansky district, participate in the work to eliminate the damage caused by the catastrophe. Currently, they continue to work on pruning trees and green spaces, which pose a threat to the life and health of local residents, and also pose a risk of damage to residential buildings.
Recall that at the end of last weekend, the “storm of the century” hit the southern regions of Russia, accompanied by hurricane-force winds. As a result of unbridled nature, some trees were uprooted, fragments of branches blocked the road and sidewalks, and multiple damages occurred to power lines and electrical equipment.
