The volume of exports of agricultural products from the Rostov region to South Africa increased by 26% in 2023 compared to 2022, the press service of the regional administration reported on November 30.
“According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, exports of agricultural products from the Rostov region to the Republic of South Africa in 2023 increased by 26% compared to the same period in 2022”the message said.
In total, more than 64 thousand tons of agricultural products were sent to South Africa in 2023. Most of the exports were cereal crops. The total amount of exports is 14.8 million dollars.
At the same time, imports of agricultural products from South Africa to the Rostov region also increased by 26%. There were 0.26 thousand tons worth 400 thousand dollars.
“We are interested in increasing the export volume to South Africa, mainly products from the food and processing industry: vegetable oil, flour, cereals and confectionery products.”said the head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Konstantin Rachalovsky.
