Russia and the United States, in accordance with their national interests, continue to cooperate in space, said the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, on November 27 at the international forum Primakov Readings.
“The national interest was manifested in the fact that by joining forces in this field you can learn more and quickly understand how this can be used in practical life, not only in space, but also on Earth.”Lavrov stated.
Lavrov clarified that American astronauts train in Russia and fly to the international space station on a Russian aircraft carrier. Russian cosmonauts train in the United States on a SpaceX ship.

In this case, the resource of the international space station is completely exhausted. Both China and Russia are building their own station. However, NASA wants to continue cooperating with Russia, but no one talks about it on a political level.
Lavrov stated that the Treaty on Principles for the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, remains in force. However, the Americans have drawn up their own document according to which they interpret the Outer Space Treaty in a way that suits their interests, that is, incorrectly and dishonestly.
In addition, the obstacle is the treaty on preventing an arms race in outer space, as well as the initiative on the non-placement of weapons in outer space. The United States will not comply and will declare itself the right to launch weapons into space. At the same time, the United States refers to the fact that Russia and China are allegedly preparing anti-satellite weapons to destroy American reconnaissance satellites.
