Several mercenaries were destroyed near Ugledar by motorized rifles of the Russian army troop group, the Russian Defense Ministry told reporters on December 1.
According to the ministry, Russian fighters repelled four attacks by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in one day. In one of the sections of the front, the defense was carried out by six soldiers with a platoon commander from the Trans-Baikal Territory with the call sign Gavz. They, with the support of artillery and mortars, repelled the attacks of superior enemy forces, causing damage to the Ukrainian side.
“Radio interception and target tracking data confirmed the participation in this confrontation of several foreign mercenaries as part of the attacking units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which were destroyed by our motorized rifles during the battle.”the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
It is noted that Russian fighters near Ugledar destroyed three enemy pickup trucks, including foreign mercenaries. Gavz, commenting on the results of the battle, highlighted the important role of artillery, the fire of which was adjusted by motorized rifles using drones.
The press service stressed that the courage and coherence of the Russian servicemen allowed them to fulfill their tasks without losses.
