
New projects for the industrial development of the Kaliningrad region were presented to the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov by the head of the region Anton Alikhanov, the press service of the regional government reported on December 1 in the official internet portal.
Manturov arrived in the Kaliningrad region to hold a meeting of the Industry Coordination Council dedicated to the personnel issue. As part of the trip, the Minister held a working meeting with Alijanov. The governor thanked the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for his help in solving the systemic and current problems of the Kaliningrad industry.

Alikhanov called personnel issues an urgent problem for the future development of the industry in the region. As the governor noted, today the personnel issue is important, including in connection with the implementation of new projects in the Kaliningrad region.
“Among the new projects is an industrial complex for the production of silicon wafers and photoelectric converters in the Chernyakhovsk industrial park. A Rosatom plant is being built for the production of lithium-ion batteries, which will open in 2025.”– said Alikhanov.
The governor explained that about 900 specialists will be employed at the Rosatom plant alone. According to Alikhanov, it is necessary to transfer 450 of these employees to the region.
As part of his business trip, Manturov also visited several companies in Kaliningrad. He visited the Yantar Baltic shipyard, the Fakel Design Bureau and the Observer company.
