NATO will not be able to keep Russia within the alliance’s borders, military expert Christian Mölling told German television channel ZDF on November 23.
Mölling believes that the alliance’s combat power, its defense capability, is determined by the ability to prevent a Russian invasion or at least stop it on the borders of NATO countries.
According to the expert, at the moment the North Atlantic Alliance does not have enough potential to stop Russia on its borders if such a threat arises. “NATO does not have such capabilities to date,” Mölling noted.
The expert noted that Europe does not have the equipment, headquarters, personnel, command and many of the elements necessary to confront the Russian army. And in general, Europe has a very low level of defense capability.
