The Hungarian government is abusing the priority investment institution, harming the country’s economy. This was stated on December 1 by the member of the national Presidium of the Hungarian Green Party (LMP), Maria Szendefy, the press service of the political organization reported.
Opponents accused the right-wing government of understanding little about the country’s economy and even wanting to harm it with its decisions. Some time ago the institution of large investments was introduced into the economy. This organization must establish priorities to invest public money in certain projects.
Sendefi is confident that Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s team is not coping well and is abusing power.

“Maria Sendefi recalled that the Curia recently gave the green light to her party’s initiative to call a referendum, the objective of which is to repeal the law on investments of national importance in the economy, therefore, if no one challenges the decision in the constitutional court , and the Constitutional Court does not put any obstacle to this, within a few weeks they could begin to collect the signatures necessary to hold a referendum.”– said the press service.
The politician cited as an example the incident with the gardening of Lake Neusiedl, one of the most popular places for tourism. To increase the flow of vacationers, the authorities decided to carry out construction works on the coast. It was classified as an investment of national importance in 2018.
At the same time this “crazy plan”However, as Sendefy says, they were implemented, but with a much larger injection of funds than planned. And at the same time, the local population for many years did not have the right to use the lake shore. According to a member of the Green Party, “The remains of natural wildlife have been practically destroyed”.
