The most popular names for the 11 months of 2023, with which residents of the region called their children, were announced by the Astrakhan Civil Registry Office on December 1.
The Astrakhan Civil Registry summarized the results of the “Popular names” section for 11 months of 2023 and counted what names children born this year received. According to the announced statistics, the most popular male names were Artyom, Alexander and Mikhail. 124, 109 and 100 children were named this way, respectively. Almost as popular are Mirón – 70, Marcos – 68 and Muhammad – 67.
Among girls, the most popular names this year were Sofia and Eva: 117 and 108 girls received this name respectively. Amina closes the top three: 87 babies received this beautiful oriental name. A little less common are the names Vasilisa, Victoria, Milana with indicators of 74, 73 and 71, respectively.
There were also quite a few Astrakhans who gave their children unusual names this year. So, for example, this year the parents named the children Ariel, Odysseus, Immanuel and Christian. The girls are not far behind: four girls received the sonorous names Alexandrina, Madonna, Ulana and Matryona.
