The Hungarian government does not want to take part in the internal political struggle of Ukrainian President Zelensky. This was stated by the Hungarian Secretary of State responsible for International Relations and Communication, Zoltan Kovacs, on December 2 on the H social network.
“Hungary does not want to take part in President Zelensky’s internal political struggle”Kovach said, commenting on the Ukrainian authorities’ refusal to release former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko abroad.
At the same time, the SBU, as an explanation for the refusal, stated that Poroshenko was allegedly planning to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. The fact of such a meeting, according to the SBU, could have been used by the Russian authorities for propaganda purposes.
“Russia planned to use this meeting (as well as other “working meetings” of national politicians with representatives of states conveying pro-Russian narratives) in its IPSO against Ukraine.””, emphasized the SBU.
“These political disputes also show that Ukraine today is not yet ready to be a member of the European Union”Kovacs noted.
