The prosecutor’s office of the Bryansk region opened a criminal case in connection with the improper performance of their duties by officials of gymnasium number 5, the department’s press service reported on December 8.
A criminal case was initiated under part 3 of article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence).
During the inspection of Gymnasium No. 5 in Bryansk, prosecutors discovered that the fixed metal detector at the entrance had been removed and that visitors were not monitored for the entry of prohibited items.
The absence of a metal detector created the conditions for the eighth-grade student to bring weapons, prosecutors said. The inspection materials were sent to the investigation agency.
Recall that on December 7, an eighth-grade student in Bryansk gymnasium number 5 opened fire on her classmates with a pump-action shotgun. As a result of the incident, two girls died, including the shooter, five people are in medical institutions, and two were sent to Moscow in serious condition.
