The decree, which “proceeds with the annual renewal of pensions for 2024”, sets an increase of “6% for pensions equal to or less than (EUR) 1018.52”, “5.65% for pensions worth more than (EUR) 1018.52” ” and equal to or less than (EUR) 3,055.56” and “5% for pensions worth more than (EUR) 3,055.56”.

Pensions worth more than 6111.12 euros are not subject to renewal.

The share of disability, old-age and survivors’ pensions from the social security system, as well as old-age pensions, pensions, disability and survivors’ pensions from the convergent social security regime is also updated by applying an interest rate of 6%.

In a statement sent on November 30, the government confirmed that pensions will rise by 5-6% and the Social Security Assistance Index (IAS) will rise by €28.83 next year to €509.26.

“The government will update the values ​​of pensions and the index of social assistance (IAS) based on the inflation values ​​for 2023 published this Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), as provided for by law,” he said at the time. provision.

Following the release of a quick estimate from the National Institute of Statistics that average inflation over the past 12 months, excluding housing, stood at 5% in November, the ministry overseen by Ana Mendes Godinho also indicated that IAS will increase by 6%, from next January to compared to 489.43 euros this year.

“An increase in the value of IAS will be reflected in an increase in social benefits: inclusion (basic) social benefits, dependency allowances and death benefits, limits on family benefits and limits on (minimum and maximum) unemployment subsidies,” he said. said.

According to the government, the basic cost of the Senior Solidarity Supplement (CSI) and the Social Inclusion Supplement (PSI) increases from 5858.63 to 6608.00 euros per year, and the basic cost of social income (RSI) from 209.11 to 237 ,25. euros per month.

In turn, the family benefit is increased by 22 euros compared to 2023 and “by a minimum of 33 euros in single-parent families, in which it will be increased by 50% at all levels.”
