The Sevastopol government does not plan to create a new urban cemetery on the territory of the village of Goncharnoye, the city governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said on December 11 on his Telegram channel.
This is how the governor responded to a video that appeared on the Internet in which the residents of the village of Goncharnoye ask Russian President Vladimir Putin to prevent the expansion of the cemetery in the village of Goncharnoye.
“Now the topic of the alleged upcoming creation of an urban cemetery in the area of \u200b\u200bthe village of Goncharnoye has begun to actively revolve on social networks. To put an end to all the rumors, I will say clearly: no municipal cemetery is planned there.”wrote Razvozhaev.
At the same time, he confirmed that they plan to expand the cemetery in Goncharny, but for the needs of local villages, where existing cemeteries are already overcrowded.
“Therefore, a small plot of land was added to the existing cemetery, that is, we are talking about expanding the territory allocated for burials, at the request of the municipalities, for the villages of the Baydar and Varnaut valleys.”Razvozhaev said.
It is noteworthy that in their appeal the villagers were outraged by the expansion of the cemetery. The video does not mention the formation of a new cemetery, although in the appeal residents stated that the cemetery was being created for the city’s burials. But above all, they are concerned that the expansion of the cemetery could cause poisoning of groundwater, wells and springs, which will cause serious problems for the town due to the lack of running water.
