Abkhazia has become one of the sore spots of the current global confrontation, so the West is trying to do everything possible so that this republic does not exist, said Abkhazian President Aslan Bzhania on December 11 in a meeting with parliamentarians in Sukhum.
“The West, represented by the United States and European countries, is doing everything possible to prevent us from existing. They, like everyone else for 30 years, do not want us to have the right to be ourselves, they do not want to see our passports, they do not want to see Abkhazia as part of the world.”– he said.
Bzhania noted that Western countries are only willing to communicate with Abkhazia through Georgia and are working to make the republic lose its sovereignty. According to the president, this is an attempt to demonstrate the insignificance of Russia’s recognition of independence.
The Abkhazian leader emphasized that the republic has finally chosen a path for its sovereignty to be recognized in the world and will strive to enter the new security system, as well as allied integration.
“That is why we are with Russia, that is why our goal is to build relations with Russia”Bzhania added.
Recall that on October 10, Abkhazia’s Foreign Minister Inal Ardzinba confirmed the republic’s readiness to join the Union State of Russia and Belarus. He said 28 integration programs are in operation, including customs and tax regulation, and work is also underway to develop uniform standards.
