Cape Verdean President José Maria Neves is on a working visit to Portugal from Thursday to Saturday, during which he will meet with his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to discuss bilateral and European relations.
José Maria Neves will be received on Saturday afternoon at the Belém Palace for a meeting at which the two heads of state will “review bilateral relations in accordance with the continued commitment to cooperation and dialogue between the two countries.” announced the presidency of Cape Verde.
“The opportunity will also provide an opportunity to talk about multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Special Partnership with the European Union,” he added.
Even earlier, on Friday, José Maria Neves will take part in the ISCTE ceremony to award the title of “Honorary Doctor” to the former head of state of Cape Verde, Pedro Pires.
