Angolan commercial banks must send the National Bank of Angola (BNA) information on loan requests “regardless of their nature” from February and proceed with the registration of the granted loan, the institution said.
According to Directive No. 01/2023 of the BNA, the central bank of Angola, which Lusa consulted this Monday, banking financial institutions must report weekly information on requests for concessions through the Credit Information and Risk Center (CIRC).
The directive also specifies that banking financial institutions must register the granted credit with the CIRC within thirty days after the date of repayment.
The failure to register the granted loan, according to the central bank, implies the retention or suspension of credit rights in accordance with the terms of the September and October 2022 loan notices.
This directive of 10 January 2023 shall enter into force thirty days after its publication.
Monitoring and enforcement of response deadlines to analyze and communicate the final decision, processing and availability of credit to borrowers is the basis of the new BNA measure.
