In Massachusetts, USA, a man was arrested for hiring assassins to kill his wife and her current boyfriend. However, the alleged killers were undercover US police agents.
The plan of 46-year-old Mohammed Chowdhury was supposed to be implemented on Tuesday, officials said. ABCNews.
The man has already shared with the alleged killers hours and places of work of the victims, as well as addresses, photographs and other information, and also gave clear instructions that the evidence did not point to him. The last step was to meet the mercenaries and pay the initial amount of $500 (460 euros). It was at this time that Chowdhury was arrested.
According to a police report released to the press, Chowdhury began searching for the woman’s killer last November, but the first man hired took the money and did not investigate the crime. It was then that Chowdhury contacted someone else who ended up filing a complaint with the authorities.
“Chowdhury told the man that he needed the murder to be carried out as soon as possible and that he would raise the necessary money even if he had to rob a store,” the statement said. In total, the man offered eight thousand dollars (7,400 euros) for the crime.
For the past two months, agents posing as hitmen have been meeting with Chowdhury to plan the crime. The man will explain that the woman did not allow him to see the children and that she left him for her current boyfriend, who also wanted to see him dead.
According to the police report, Chowdhury mentioned several times the importance of covering up the murder and ensuring that the crime was not connected to it.
Now the man is awaiting trial and, if his guilt is proven, he faces up to ten years in prison.
