Saab received an order for RBS 70 Bolide missiles from the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA), the company’s press service reported on December 22 on the official Internet portal.
The cost of the order is 350 million Swedish crowns (3.15 billion rubles) and deliveries should be made during the year 2027. According to the head of the SAAB Dynamics business area, Jorgen Johansson, the NSPA order demonstrates the continued interest of NATO countries in missile systems produced by Saab, including the RBS 70 system.
It is indicated that the RBS 70 system has been supplied to more than 19 countries. In total, 1,600 RBS 70 systems and more than 18,000 missiles were delivered. The Bolide missile is a versatile short-range air defense missile. It provides protection against a wide range of threats, from aircraft and helicopters to small targets such as cruise missiles and drones. The range of destruction is more than nine kilometers, the height is more than 5 thousand m.
