Accenture workers went on strike on Tuesday and will go on strike again on January 2, demanding, among other things, a 200 euro increase in the minimum wage.
In a statement, the Union of Trade, Office and Service Workers of Portugal (CESP) said workers are demanding a 15% wage increase, a minimum of 200 euros, as well as an increase in food benefits to 12 euros.
CESP also calls for “a reduction in weekly working hours to 35 hours for everyone without loss of pay” and for workers to be given “the right to be released from work on December 25 or January 1.”
According to the statement, “the holiday booking process must have clear criteria,” which requires “improved communication mechanisms with the company’s HR department.”
The union also demanded “an end to the punitive logic of the shuttle” and that the company end “penalties for three absences – three months without using the service” by demanding “more shuttle routes.”
