The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Mohammad Reza Farzin, traveled to Moscow at the head of a technical delegation to develop monetary and banking cooperation with Russia and strengthen ties within the framework of the free trade agreement between Iran and the members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), reports Tasnim.
The head of the BCI will hold negotiations with the president of the Central Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, and other Russian officials.
Farzin will be accompanied by his deputies for international and economic affairs, as well as the heads of Iranian banks Bank Melli Iran and Bank Sepah.
Recall that on December 25 in St. Petersburg, the EAEU countries and Iran signed a large-scale free trade agreement. Upon ratification by EAEU member states, it will come into force in place of the 2019 temporary agreement.
