A TVDE driver detained by PSP on Tuesday on suspicion of raping a woman in Lisbon has been released.

The suspect was arrested by the PSP following a complaint from the victim’s mother.
The woman, in her 30s, told PSP she requested transportation early Tuesday morning. Halfway through the journey, she asked the driver to take her to a McDonald’s store. They both bought food and ate in the backseat of the car. The alleged violation occurred at this time. The woman got out of the car after the abuse and called her mother in a panic.
It was the latter who filed a complaint with the PSP, indicating information about the driver and the vehicle. The patrol located and arrested the suspect at 04:00, and the victim was taken to the San Jose Hospital for forensic examination. Our newspaper found that the detainee guarantees that the sex between them was consensual.
The Judicial Police have received information about the investigation and are in possession of the vehicle in which the violation allegedly occurred. On Tuesday, the victim had not yet filed a criminal complaint against the suspect.
The Sexual Crimes Unit of the Lisbon Prosecutor’s Office will continue the investigation by examining the accused’s vehicle.
