Angolan President João Lourenço has authorized spending of $80.9 million (€73 million) to restore, expand and equip eight public schools in Luanda due to their high level of degradation.
This measure is contained in a presidential decree of December 22, which Lusa became familiar with this Thursday after being published in the Diário da República. It authorizes spending and formalizes the opening of a “simplified contracting process” for awarding contracts for the work. is working to “rehabilitate, expand and equip” said infrastructure.

The President of the Republic of Angola delegates responsibility to the Minister of Education with the power to delegate authority to control the process and verify the validity and legality of all actions carried out within its framework.
The Ministry of Finance must register the projects in the general state budget for 2024 and ensure the availability of financial resources necessary for the implementation of the above-mentioned projects, the order said.
