The Executive Committee of Global Media Group announced this Thursday the deferment of December salaries for employees of JN, DN, O Jogo and TSF. At stake is the group’s “extremely serious financial position.”
In internal correspondence, the Executive Committee criticized the “unexpected withdrawal of the Portuguese state from the already concluded deal to acquire the group’s shares in the Lusa Agency” and referred to the “unjustified suspension of the
use of an escrow account that has existed at Banco Atlântico Europa for about 6 years.”
“At this time, the Executive Committee cannot advance or fix any date for the payment of the December salary, but can only ensure that it is making every effort to ensure that the delay is as short as possible,” it can be read.
The Executive Committee ensures that “it takes a set of measures (…) that can guarantee the viability and salvation of the various brands and the Global Media Group itself.”
