This Friday, Russia carried out one of the largest and most destructive attacks on Ukrainian territory since the war began, killing at least 31 people and damaging schools, apartment buildings and a maternity hospital, as well as other sites in various parts of the country.
“Russia attacked us with almost everything it has in its arsenal,” President Volodymyr Zelensky said. Air defense forces identified at least 158 drones and cruise, ballistic and hypersonic missiles, 114 of which were shot down. “We have never seen so many targets on our monitors at the same time,” admitted an Air Force spokesman.
In addition to the capital, the cities of Odessa, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Dnieper and Lviv came under attack. Dozens of military and civilian infrastructure were damaged, including at least one maternity hospital, power plants, a shopping center, a business center, schools and several residential buildings.
The preliminary balance yesterday was 31 dead and more than 130 wounded, but there are fears that even more victims were trapped under the rubble.
