Portuguese international Gelson Martins will leave Monaco, where his contract expired in June 2024, to join Olympiacos, the Monegasque club participating in the French Football Championship announced on Tuesday.
Gelson Martins, who trained at Sporting, has been at Monaco since January 2019 when the French signed the Portuguese striker from Atlético Madrid, initially on loan and six months later on a permanent basis in exchange for €30 million.
The 28-year-old played 129 matches for Monaco, scoring 16 goals and providing 14 assists.
Oympiacos paid three million euros to acquire the Portuguese player, who has 21 caps for England, between October 7, 2016 and September 10, 2018.
