Setubal’s judicial police are taking steps to identify those responsible for the shooting that killed two people in Monte da Caparica, Almada, on Friday, and there are “at least two suspects” but no arrests have yet been made.
The status of the case was reported to Lusa late Tuesday morning by Setúbal director João Bugia.
According to information collected by the police, the shots were fired by two people, but PS Director Setubala does not rule out the possibility that others were involved.
In addition to the two dead, Jose Borges, 43, and Lina di Giusta, 35, died shortly after being admitted to the García de Orta hospital, where they were taken by friends. Another six injured people were taken to the emergency room by civilians with minor injuries.
On Saturday, a GNR source told news agency Lusa that the shooting was due to “disrespect between several people” and that a security device was installed at the site at the time to avoid retaliation and other incidents.
