The 42-year-old driver was intercepted by the GNR in Braga after he disobeyed a stop order in Barcelos on Saturday morning and fled the authorities for several kilometers through three municipalities. Seven vehicles were damaged, four of which belonged to GNR.
The car in which the woman was traveling was detected by radar set to EN103 in Gamila, Barcelos as speeding at 11:30. Having received the command to stop, the driver disobeyed and fled. It was followed by the GNR, from which it escaped via Barcelos, Povoa de Lagnosa and Braga. He was eventually intercepted under a viaduct next to a cavalry regiment in Braga around 12:00.
The GNR military realized that the driver had behavioral problems. It would be uncompensated. She was taken to the psychiatric department of the hospital de Braga.
