A North American court has released the first batch of court documents relating to multimillionaire Jeffrey Epstein (1953-2019), accused of sexual abuse and trafficking of minors, still confidential, several media outlets reported.
The documents released Wednesday are part of a defamation lawsuit filed in 2015 by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s main whistleblowers, against Epstein’s mistress and business partner, British woman Ghislaine Maxwell, and have drawn worldwide attention to the alleged involvement of prominent figures. .
Many of the names are already known: they were identified during Maxwell’s 2021 trial, sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping Epstein sexually abuse minors, for giving interviews or being the subject of complaints.
