An 80-year-old man with cancer and diabetes was admitted to the emergency department of the Viseu Hospital at 3 am this Saturday wearing a yellow bracelet. Four hours later, the man called his daughter because “he was desperate.”
The daughter, Sandra Figueiredo, walked into the emergency room with blankets and found her father sitting in a corner on the floor of the emergency room waiting room, cold and in pain, and no one could see him, she said. CM.
“There were four people sitting in the emergency room waiting room and my father was lying on the floor. The emergency room was not chaotic, so my father was treated selflessly, like a beggar. He entered at 03:00 am. through INEM, knowing that it was an emergency, and he was given a yellow bracelet. At 7 am, he called me in a slurred voice and asked me to pick him up or bring him blankets, because he was lying on the floor,” says the daughter.
ABOUT CM attempted to respond from the Tondela-Viseu hospital center, but it has not yet commented.
Sandra Figueiredo says she will sue the hospital.
Several emergency restrictions have emerged across the country in recent weeks.
