This Sunday, Besiktas announced the signing of Fernando Santos. The Portuguese coach, a former coach of the national team, has been free on the market since leaving the Polish national team.
The coach has not coached the club since 2010, when he headed the Greek club PAOK. Since then he has coached three countries: Greece, Portugal and Poland.
As a coach, he only won trophies with Portugal. European Championship 2016 and Nations League 2018.
His stay in Poland lasted several months and only six games, in which he recorded three wins and three losses.
His long coaching record includes stints at three major Portuguese clubs, as well as three stints in Greece: with AEK, Panathinaikos and PAOK.
In Portugal, the only titles he won with Porto were the Portuguese Championship, two Portuguese Cups and the Cândido de Oliveira Super Cup.
The only trophy he achieved in clubs and abroad was the Greek Cup, in his first year playing for AEK.
