Fernando Valente, the main suspect in the murder of Monica Silva, turned off his mobile phone at 8 pm on the day the pregnant woman disappeared. However, he used a secret cell phone to call the missing woman at 9:07 p.m., and then turned off that device as well. The cell phone was never found, but authorities were able to find out its number thanks to Monica’s eldest son, who shared his phone contacts with his mother.
The young man also told police inspectors that on the day of his disappearance – October 3 – his mother left the house on foot and that it was Fernando who was allegedly going to pick her up.
The pregnant woman’s two children, 11 and 14 years old, have already been heard by the judge as a souvenir. As usual, the suspect’s defense was present, which means Fernando Valente already knows the testimony of the young people.
Fernando Valente, detained by the SP in mid-November, is under house arrest in a house in Pedroso, Gaya. The suspect has been charged with qualified murder, desecration and concealment of a corpse, and aggravated abortion.
