This Tuesday, Sporting reached the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup, beating Tondela from the II League with a score of 4:0 in the first meeting, with doubles from Pedro Gonçalves and Gyokeres.
The Portugal international scored in the 11th and 16th minutes and the Swedish striker scored in the 37th and 46th to ensure qualification for the Lions, who have won the Queen’s competition 17 times, most recently in 2019.
The Portuguese Cup round of 16 games will continue until Thursday, with trophy winners Porto visiting Estoril Praia on Tuesday, kick-off at 20:45.
