Amalia Knavs, the mother of former US first lady Melania Trump, died on Tuesday at the age of 78, her daughter reported on Platform X, as quoted by the publication AP News.
“It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother Amalia,” Melanie Trump wrote.
“Amalia Knavs was a strong woman who always conducted herself with grace, warmth and dignity. She was completely devoted to her husband, daughters, grandson and son-in-law. We will miss her immensely and will continue to honor and love her. his legacy,” he added in the post.
According to Donald Trump, his mother-in-law was already “very ill.” During the New Year’s celebrations, Amalia Knavs was in a hospital in Miami, accompanied by Melania Trump.
Trump mourned the death of Amalia Knavs on the social network he created, Truth Social: “This is a very sad night for the entire Trump family!!! Melania’s great and beautiful mother, Amalia, has just gone to a wonderful place in heaven. She was an incredible woman and will be missed in words!”
