A 16-year-old student attending the 11th year of Escola Secundária de Seia died this Thursday after colliding with a glass door at the back of Pavilion C.
Authorities are analyzing the circumstances surrounding Mariana Cruz’s death. The school community was shocked and received psychological support.
Seiya firefighters were alerted at 2 p.m.
When they arrived, the girl was in cardiac and respiratory arrest and had glass stuck in her head. The larger one pierced his chest.
“We started resuscitation efforts and called for help. The INEM helicopter did land on the school field, but the victim was taken by ambulance to the Seia hospital and died,” said Nuno Marques, deputy commander of the Seia volunteers.
