The Angolan Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) announced this Sunday the arrest of five people suspected of involvement in the murder of Angolan sociologist and university professor Laurindo Vieira.
According to Angolan media reports, four men and one woman allegedly involved in the crime were presented to the press in the municipal district of Belas in Luanda.
Laurindo Vieira, 60, had a degree in sociology and was known to the general public through his appearances as a television commentator.
He was rector and professor at the Gregorio Semedo University and a member of the Central Committee of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA).
