The International Institute of the Portuguese Language (IILP) this Monday announced the application period for the literary residency program until February 16, according to a statement.
The four scholarships will be funded with the aim of “supporting the dissemination of writers from Lusophone countries and regions and promoting creativity,” he added.
Ultimately, the goal is to “promote intercultural interaction within the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP) and a deeper knowledge of the literature of its member states and Lusophone regions.”
This process takes place through the IILP portal at https://iilp.cplp.org on the Internet.
Each creative writing residency lasts one month and is held annually from March 1st to 31st, and each chosen person receives travel funds (up to 1200 euros) and support for the duration of their stay in the country (one thousand euros plus 200 at the end). project).
The program also includes living support, which can be provided by IILP and program partners or by providing additional cash support of €500.
Beneficiaries of the program undertake to submit an unpublished narrative text or essay (minimum 15 and 10 pages, respectively) that creates a creative association between the physical or social space of the place of residence and the country of origin. writer – must be submitted within one week after the end of residency.
IILP’s mission is to “promote the Portuguese language and culture”, which also has a form of expression within it.
