A newborn baby was found abandoned in a shopping bag in Beckton, east London, England. The girl, who was less than an hour old, was wrapped in a towel, the source said. BBC.
The alarm was raised around 9:00 pm this Thursday. The temperature in the city was negative due to the cold wave the country is currently experiencing.
A dog walker found the girl after hearing her crying and kept her warm until emergency crews arrived.
The girl was examined and taken to the hospital in stable condition with no injuries. While the investigation continues, she has been given the tentative name “Elsa”.
Police began working to identify the child’s mother and requested information about her whereabouts.
“Our thoughts are now with the child’s mother. We are extremely concerned for her well-being as she has undergone a traumatic experience and will require immediate medical attention after birth,” said one of the researchers, quoted BBC.
