US Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina expressed his official support for Donald Trump’s candidacy for the US presidency on January 19 at a Trump campaign rally in New Hampshire.
The support of the only black Republican senator, also from South Carolina, completely undermines all of Nikki Haley’s chances of defeating Trump at least in South Carolina, where Haley was governor.
Even before this support, Trump, according to the latest polls, obtained more than 50% of the votes in the states of New Hampshire, where the primary elections will end on January 23, and South Carolina, where the primary elections will end next January 23. Republicans on February 22.
Recall that Scott also declared his presidential ambitions for some time and even participated in the first Republican Party debate, but then withdrew from the fight, but refused to support any of his opponents.
Scott’s announcement of his support for Trump comes after Trump’s landslide victory in Iowa and another competitor, Vivek Ramaswamy, dropping out and endorsing Trump.
