The Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), in an operation to combat the usurpation of medical functions in the municipality of Porto, seized 72 packages of medicines and two accused were charged, it became known this Saturday.
The information is contained in communications from ASAE and the Health Regulatory Authority (ERS), which also participated in a joint inspection activity of ASAE and INFARMED – the National Medicines Authority, aimed at an establishment engaged in parapharmaceutical activities and a medical establishment that engages in the practice of aesthetic medicine activities.
“During the action, it was established that three of the persons who performed medical procedures related to aesthetics, namely the use of botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid and tension threads, despite informing consumers that they had valid academic titles for this purpose, originating from countries from SSPL [Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa]they are not registered with the Medical Association,” see ASAE and ERS.
