CMTV morning news was the absolute leader of television in Portugal, beating the competing formats of all universal free-to-air channels.
CMTV’s Notícias CM, broadcast from 5.45 to 9.19, had an average audience of 106 thousand and 600 viewers, equivalent to a share of 16.5%.
With this result, CMTV beat the universal TVI and surpassed “Diário da Manhã” and “Esta Manhã”, both from TVI. The latter had only 98 thousand viewers and a share of 11.4%.
Both “Bom di Portugal” from RTP-1 and “Edição da Manhã” from SIC also lagged behind CMTV, which was the absolute leader of the Portuguese television market for almost 3 hours straight.
CMTV’s average daily share was 7.8%, compared to 2.3% for CNN and 2% for SIC Notícias.
CMTV airs on Channel 8 on all cable platforms, but not yet on DTT. GFK is solely responsible for the results shown.
