At least nine people were killed and more than 70 injured this Wednesday in an Israeli attack on a UN compound housing thousands of Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip town of Khan Yunis. According to eyewitnesses, Israeli tanks fired at the UN Palestine Refugee Agency (UNRWA) compound, hitting several areas where civilians were concentrated. The attack came on the same day that Israel denied rumors of a possible agreement with Hamas on a new truce.
Meanwhile, US planes this Wednesday attacked two Houthi rebel missile sites in Yemen and several Iranian-backed militia bases in Iraq in what the Baghdad government said was an “irresponsible escalation.”
