A newborn baby was reportedly found dead in the bathroom of a bar in Oulton, Leeds, England, on Sunday afternoon. Independent.
The alarm was raised around 4:45 p.m., but when police arrived at the scene, the girl was dead. Authorities believe the victim was a “stillborn,” which occurs when death occurs before or during childbirth.
Police have issued an appeal to find the child’s mother and, in statements given at a press conference to the mother, say they do not want to arrest anyone, but simply want to make sure they understand “what really happened.” and that the woman is “receiving necessary medical care.”
Therefore, the policeman asked the girl’s mother to contact the police or doctors.
The director of nursing at Leeds Hospital also told the press conference that she was “concerned about the woman’s medical, physical and mental well-being” and asked her to “seek medical attention and advice”.
“You can see your family doctor, but if you don’t feel comfortable going to your family doctor, go to one of our emergency departments,” he says.
