Three people were left homeless after a fire broke out on the second floor of a building on Rua Gomes da Costa in Vila Poca de Aguiar this Wednesday.
The alarm came at 12:00. Firefighters managed to contain the fire in the kitchen of the affected apartment, preventing it from spreading to other rooms and adjacent apartments.
None of the internally displaced persons were injured. “No casualties were reported, only material damage was recorded,” said commander Hugo Silva.
Civil Defense is taking steps to resettle the family.
At the scene of the incident were 11 members of the Vila Poca de Aguiar fire service, accompanied by four vehicles, members of the Municipal Civil Protection and GNR.
The State Police is investigating the cause of the fire.
