The Investigative Committee (IC) of the republic charged an Armenian citizen who desecrated a monument to the children of besieged Leningrad with incitement to hatred and discrimination, the department’s press service reported on February 1.
It should be noted that Samvel Shirinyan, who desecrated the attributes of the Russian flag, was charged under paragraph 3 of part 2 of article 329 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (public calls to hatred and discrimination).
Recall that on January 27 in Yerevan, Armenian citizen Samvel Shirinyan demonstratively tore off and trampled ribbons with the Russian tricolor, and also knocked down the wreaths placed on the monument to the children of besieged Leningrad and the Armenian mothers who adopted them. The vandal filmed his actions with a video camera, accompanied by offensive statements against Russia, and then posted them on social networks.
