The results of the implementation of the long-term care system were discussed at a meeting of the Public Council under the Komi Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the press service of the government of the Komi Republic reports on February 5.
The long-term care system includes older people and people with disabilities who cannot fully or partially care for themselves, move independently, or meet their basic life needs. Citizens with reduced mobility should receive social and medical assistance at home.
“The project radically changes the approach in the organization of social assistance to older people. Social service specialists work proactively and independently to find people who need social assistance. Today in the Komi Republic the number of citizens receiving social services within the framework of the long-term care system is 250 people.”said Deputy Prime Minister of the Komi Republic, Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Population Ekaterina Gribkova.
Let us remember that the objective of the national “Demography” project is to increase healthy life expectancy to 67 years; reduce the mortality rate of the working-age population, increasing the total birth rate.
The project includes the development and implementation of a program of systemic support and improvement of the quality of life of senior citizens.
The total amount of financing of the national project “Demography” will amount to more than 3.5 trillion rubles.
