According to an order published in the Official Journal, the regional government of the Azores will grant leave on Tuesday during Carnival to employees of the regional public administration.
The order of the President of the Regional Government also defines temporary admissions for employees of the Regional Public Administration of Terceira Island in the afternoon of the 12th (Monday) and the morning of the 14th (Wednesday), “taking into account the specifics, importance and traditional period of the performance of the “dances” and “bailiños” characteristic of the island.”
In the document, the executive branch emphasizes that the exception applies to employees of services and organizations who “for reasons of public interest must continue to work during these periods under conditions to be determined by the competent member of the regional government.”
“Without prejudice to the continuity and quality of services provided, senior managers of the services and bodies referred to in the previous paragraph shall facilitate an equivalent exemption from the duty of attendance of their respective employees on a date to be determined in due course,” the order, already issued in January, said. .
