The creators of the Israeli television series Fauda have reportedly turned down the writers’ proposal to include a Hamas attack in the series to take control of an Israeli kibbutz. According to series creator Avi Issacharoff, producers considered the script “too unrealistic.”
“Guys, what are the chances that dozens of terrorists will reach the border, and the Israel Defense Forces have no signs of this? That they won’t be shot down?” – Issakharov said in an interview with the publication Jewish news in the United Kingdom, according to i24news.
Issacharov explained that recent events, especially after the Hamas attack on October 7, have made the narrative chosen for the Feuda series outdated. “What we wrote has become completely irrelevant. So we are reinventing the series, just as in a sense we will have to reinvent Israel,” the series creator explained.
But it wasn’t just the series’ narrative that suffered; with the outbreak of war on October 7th, the crew also suffered. Matan Meir was killed and actor Idan Amedi was wounded during the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
