US President Joe Biden said Wednesday that the country will send 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
This military assistance is equal to a Ukrainian battalion. Biden explained that this political decision increases the ability of the captured country to defend the territory.
Joe Biden also said that sending the tanks “will take some time.”
“We all want this war to end,” Biden said.
The US President spoke this Wednesday following the confirmation of the delivery of 14 Leopard 2-A6 tanks by Berlin, Germany.
Germany also gave the green light to other countries to supply weapons.
According to the President of the United States, the deployment of tanks “was fixed and agreed upon by NATO allies.”
On Wednesday, Russia threatened to blow up US-supplied battle tanks to Ukraine if they reached Kyiv.
