A man was killed and four others were injured when a wall collapsed in the New Delhi metro station, India, this Thursday. Two employees, a manager and another engineer, have been suspended and an investigation is ongoing.
In accordance with Indian Express, part of the station wall collapsed on the east side, causing it to hit the road and five people passing by.
The victim, 53 years old, was riding a scooter and was buried under the rubble. With the help of police and others, she was eventually picked up and taken to the hospital, but she ultimately died from her injuries. The remaining four people received minor injuries.
The metro management will pay compensation in varying amounts to the victims and relatives of the deceased person.
