More than 100 dead cats were found in a house in France. Sixty-seven people were in the freezer and another 50 were buried in the garden of the house. A 66-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday following an investigation, according to the French press.
The alarm was reported by a neighbor who smelled a foul odor. Thirty-eight cats were also found alive in the same house but were not being properly cared for.
“The neighbors informed us about the situation. We knew this house because 58 cats had already been rescued in 2019. And now it’s happening again,” the French Animal Welfare Association said. BFMTV.
Following the discovery, the suspect was placed in police custody but was subsequently released. The man will appear in court in June this year and could face charges of willfully abandoning and neglecting a domestic or captive animal.
